Akrivis Law Group, PLLC formally established operations today in Washington, DC, serving clients in five core areas – banking & finance, business & corporate, energy & projects, international commercial transactions, and trade and sanctions regulations. The firm was founded by Farhad Alavi, formerly partner of BHFA Law Group, PLLC, and is built on BHFA’s existing infrastructure and resources.

Akrivis Partner Farhad Alavi focuses on international and domestic corporate matters including sophisticated trade issues (including U.S. sanctions laws, export controls, and anti-corruption regulations) multinational investment, and transnational banking & finance. He is widely known for his work in sanctions regulations and is often quoted in various international media. Mr. Alavi’s experience includes practice at a number of major global law firms.

Joining Mr. Alavi will be Teresa N. Taylor who will serve the firm as Of Counsel. Ms. Taylor concentrates on various regulatory matters and has worked at the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and a major global law firm.

Akrivis seeks to draw on its capable team to deliver sophisticated legal advice and solutions in its core competencies to sophisticated clients ranging from high net worth individuals to major multinational entities.
